G Division Year Unknown U.S.S. INDEPENDENCE
"Sir, could we use your bomb elevator to
move some chairs up to the Hanger Bay? "
Aviation Ordnancemen, Torpedomen, and Minemen . . . .
movers of bombs, mines and rockets lurk below decks in spaces
we never see, never think about . . . until maybe they are needed.
G Division men are busy contributing to earning the ship's
Weapons "W", maintaining all the ordnance elevators,
ordnance carriers, and magazines, and providing safety
observers for ordnance handling evolutions.
G Divisions men are . . . well . . . maybe . . . "G Men"!
After all, you don't fool with a man handling a 2000 pound bomb!
