OI Division is the heart of the ship's Combat
Information Center and includes the OS and
EW rates. The main function of CIC is to collect,
process, evaluate and disseminate tactical
information to the Commanding Officer
and bridge watch team.
This information is collected from radars,
lookouts, voice radio, intelligence reports
and electronic emissions.
The CIC facility operates four sections each
associated with the various types of warfare

subsurface and electronic.
In addition to its primary function of
maintaining a tactical warfare picture in order
for the ship to defend itself, CIC also
provides Radar Navigation / Low Visibility
Piloting for the ship and assists the Bridge
during a man overboard situation and
search and rescue missions.
