S1A Division 1974 - 1975 U.S.S. INDEPENDENCE CV-62 "I need a 3 digit, left hand threaded widget for an F-4J!" S1A Division is Supply Department's Aviation Supply Support team. This 50 man division (25 are Air Wing personnel) provides repair parts required by AIMD and squadrons to maintain INDY's aircraft. The 50 Storkeepers )and strickers) plus 5 civilian Tech Reps combine their talents to provide 24 hour service in a number of different areas. Expertise is required to provide rapid and accurate requisition processing, technical research, material delivery. Rotable Pool management and other parts management programs. The hours are long, the work is complex and keeping track of a multitude of aircraft parts is no easy task for the men of S1A
